Another Royal Winter Fair drawing (watercolour).

There were incredible cows there. I don't know what the breed was called, but they were all wrinkly, and coloured like Weimaraners. I did the drawing on location and painted it when I got home.

For those like me interested in process, the under-drawing looked something like this:

I am pretty sure I'll be headed to Europe in the spring for a month or two. Before that happens I feel like I need to make a concerted effort to draw more from observation so I am equipped to make the most of the trip. Hopefully I'll be able to bring myself to produce and post some figure drawings soon.

I really adore your work! It's inspiring me to push my own visual sense in my own. And I was just wondering after you draw your sketch do you water color over it? or do you scan it in and digitally color it?

Cool, I was just going to ask the same question as Toohey, I'm pretty curious because if it is computer I'm even more impressed than I already am.
In ancient times it was a compliment to have eyes like a cow, I still think the term could be used today.

I suppose I should have mentioned it was watercolour and ink. I had thought it was evident, but people are doing wonderful things with digital mediums these days...

Sorry to disappoint.

What a strange cow! Its look seems to be very melancholy... Fantastic artwork, this cow is quite amazing, and I love a lot your way to deal with colors :)

Hey Big Brother! You inspired me to start my own blogging thing. Did you happen to get a good enough sketch of the llama from our RWF outing to render?
